Evidently, the African continent is blessed with immense natural resources.However,the abundant resource has not translated into economic prosperity and better condition of living in tandem with the bounteous resources.Available data projects a weak and fluctuating economic growth over the years in comparism with the Asian continent that has similar history.In this paper we chronicle the paradox of weak economic performance in Africa with hindsight on history,theory and the challenges of economic growth and development in Africa,modest effort is also made to highlight the policy initiative of Singapore,China and India as case study to fast-track the pace of economic growth and prosperity in Africa.the paper winds up with policy recommendation for a vibrant and convergent economy.

No doubt, the polity Nigeria is one of the most ethnically divided society globally with diverse ethnic cocoons and myriads of dialect. Thus, the plurality of her composition has made national integration challenging. This then connotes that ethnic diversity has become a clog in the wheel of the progress of the most populous country in Africa. In view of the foregoing, this paper beamed search light on the origin and attendant challenges of Nigeria's diversity vis-à-vis successive government integrative mechanism for national integration.

proved to be Nigeria’s harbinger of national instability as unabated festering irregularities that manifest
at different stages of election subject almost all Nigeria’s
election below the minimum democracy standard. However,
for elections to be termed democratic, it must be free and fair.In view of this,the thrust of this paper is a reflection on the tides of electoral violence and the attendant precipitating factors that makefree and fair election pretty difficult in Nigeria.This paper however concludes with recommend
